Alloa charity go for funding to help women start their own businesses
An Alloa charity have made it to the final round of voting for a share of £140,000 pounds of funding.
Clackmannanshire Women into Self-Employment is one of ten Scottish finalists for the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Skills and Opportunities fund.
If successful the not-for-profit organisation could win a grant of up to £35,000, which they will use to encourage women start their own business and help others build their confidence if they are returning to employment.
ClackWISE are hoping to help an initial 25 women in the area, with 15 participating in the full project and 12 expected to complete business plans leading on to them starting their business in a purpose built business hub in the town.
It’s hoped their businesses will go on to provide a lasting economic contribution.
