Local MSP calls for decision to be made on Park of Keir
Green MSP Mark Ruskell has challenged the Scottish Government over the length of time ministers have taken to determine the Park of Keir appeal.
It’s been five months since plans to build luxury housing and sports facilities near Bridge of Allan were appealed.
The project has the backing of Judy Murray but has received significant public opposition.
Planning Minister, Kevin Stewart MSP, said “Every effort is being made to issue the decision as soon as possible.”
Mr Ruskell says it’s time for the Scottish Government to “end the uncertainty for local communities.”
He said, “The development proposal for Park of Keir is completely inappropriate for the area and contrary to the Local Development Plan. While there may be merit to the development of a sports complex, this is not the right place for it.
“The communities of Dunblane and Bridge of Allan have been left waiting for half a year as the Scottish Government seem to have kicked this decision into the long grass.
“It is time for the Scottish Government to end the uncertainty for local communities and throw out this appeal now.”
