Appeal after dog found tied to tree
An animal charity has appealed to the public for information after a dog was found tied to a tree in Bogside.
The SSPCA were alerted on Saturday evening after a cyclist spotted the animal, who’s been named Honey, tied up on a remote cycle path.
She’d been left emaciated, with a matted coat and a skin condition.
The charity have asked anyone who recognises Honey to get in touch.
Chief Inspector John Chisholm said, “Thankfully the dog was rescued before she came to any harm.
“She was discovered tied to a tree in a remote area and was very lucky to be found by someone who helped her.
“She’s been named Honey as she doesn’t have a microchip which since 2016 has been a legal requirement for dogs.
“Honey was found emaciated with overgrown nails, a matted coat and a skin condition.
“We’re urging anyone who recognises Honey to get in touch with any information.”
Anyone with information is being urged to contact the Scottish SPCA Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
