Children’s Panel urging for more volunteers from the Forth Valley
The Children’s Panel is urging people in the Forth Valley to become volunteers.
The tribunal is holding an information night next Wednesday (20 September) at the Municipal Buildings in Falkirk, to encourage more people to step-up to the role.
They say more support is needed to help “make a difference” in the lives of vulnerable young people in the area.
Christine Cameron, from the Children’s Panel, said: “We’re not looking for people with specialist skills, simply those with the capacity to care about, and communicate with, children and families.
“We need dedicated, caring local people with commitment and common sense to get involved.”
The Children’s Panel play a vital role in helping to ensure that children and young people are given the right help and guidance if they appear at a Children’s Hearing.
Ms Cameron added: “By making time in you busy lives for vulnerable young people, Panel members can really make a difference in helping a child or young person out of a dark place.
“By coming along to the information event we can show you how you can make a real difference to a troubled young person or one who is in danger.”
