Stirling golf scheme launched for veterans
Veterans of the armed forces are being treated to play golf for free, thanks to a new initiative by Active Stirling.
They’re welcoming ex-troops to play the sport at six golf clubs across Stirling and Clackmannanshire.
It’s hoped Tee Time for Troops will help those who suffer from PTSD or anxiety, after leaving the forces.
The initiative’s also hoped to be extended to provide other sports in the future.
Allen Gibson of Active Stirling said: “I am excited to introduce the initiative which has gained a lot of traction in a short period of time. The idea has gathered praise from many partners and I am looking forward to where the initiative can hopefully grow and become a stepping stone for veterans to get back to more active lifestyles”.
