Disappointing day for Forth Valley clubs

It was a poor day for the local football sides in the Forth Valley on Saturday (11th), as they all suffered defeats.

Falkirk went down 2-1 at Partick Thistle to make it successive Championship defeats for Paul Hartley’s men.

The Bairns are only being kept off the bottom of the table by Alloa Athletic, who lost 2-0 at home to Greenock Morton.

In League One, Stenhousemuir were beaten 2-0 at title favourites Raith Rovers.

Stirling Albion are yet to put a point on the board so far this season, following their convincing 3-0 home loss against Clyde.

The Binos are second bottom in League Two, with only Albion Rovers between them and last place in the whole of the SPFL.

The teams are all back in action on Tuesday night, for the first round of the Irn Bru Cup.
