People across Forth Valley encouraged to make nominations for Grassroots Football Awards
People across the Forth Valley are being encouraged to put forward nominations for the 2019 Scottish Football Association Grassroots Football Awards.
The ceremony will celebrate and recognise the work of grassroots volunteers making a difference to local communities.
Similar awards will also take place in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Sir Kenny Dalglish, Casey Stoney MBE and Martin Keown are some of a number of football legends who support the awards.
The awards, presented by McDonald’s and the Sunday Mail, include a number of categories including Coach of the Year, Club of the Year and Football Mum of the Year.
Sir Geoff Hurst, 1966 World Cup winner with England’s men’s national side, also supports the awards and said:
“In a community, you’re just keeping kids off the streets, getting them playing in a team environment and is very beneficial to each and every community we see all over the UK.
“Just nominate – nominate anybody in your own community, within football, at any level doing anything at all to improve and give grassroots kids a chance to play football.”
Nominations are open up until Friday 21 June 2019 and can be made on www.mcdonalds.co.uk/awards
