Scottish Parliament meeting over Doune Castle catering plans
The Stirling MSP has raised concerns over the proposed catering service at Doune Castle.
Bruce Crawford met with Historic Environment Scotland at Holyrood, to express fears the service could impact local businesses.
A petition against the plan has attracted hundreds of signatures.
The Chief Executive of HES responded, saying he’ll now meet locals to discuss about their concerns.
Bruce Crawford said, “This was a positive meeting, and certainly the Chief Executive of HES took on board the concerns that had been raised with me by local people about how this catering service may impact local business.
“I am pleased that further discussions will be had between HES and the local community, and I look forward to hearing the outcome of these discussions.”
Local Councillor, Martin Earl commented, “The Chief Executive at HES is meeting with the Community Council and other representatives this evening.
“I am looking forward to hearing about how the Historic Environment Scotland are going to work with the Community rather than impose their original catering solution that would have seriously impacted on local businesses.”
