CHARITY WARNS OF WORKING TAX CREDIT STRUGGLE FOR LOCAL FAMILIES

Family-money
A charity has warned that half of families in the Forth Valley could be left struggling if cuts to working tax credits go ahead.

Chancellor George Osborne said he’d be looking to make significant savings in Wednesday’s Budget to the system of tax credits.

There are 16,400 families in the Forth Valley in receipt of tax credits including almost 29,000 children.

Barnardo’s Scotland is calling on the UK Government to keep what it called the “lifeline” benefit.
