Eat Local!

Can you eat Scottish produce like the First Minister for a whole week?

Malky has been set a challenge by Mairi, and that is to eat Scottish food just like our First Minister, Alex Salmond for a whole week.

Malky insisted you can’t do such a thing, that’s why we shop in supermarkets, so Mairi made a few phone calls, and with the assistance of some local food merchants, Malky IS eating Scottish food for 7 days.

Here are some of the merchants who are assisting.

Patrick’s of Camelon   are supplying the meat and Malky and Mairi are enjoying a delicious traditional Breakfast Fry-Up. (All Scottish produce) We would also add, there is virtually no fat in the meat

mylocalfarm.co.uk  are taking care of the vegetables. Malky’s impressed with the Mushrooms from Fallin, and has never seen such healthy fat juicy carrots. It looks like some homemade soup is on the cards this weekend.

Food Heaven   in Glebe Street, Falkirk are taking care of the sandwiches for lunchtime, with the freshest ingredients from all over Scotland, including smoked oatcakes, Lanarkshire blue cheese, and Chutney from the Isle of Bute. All the rolls are topped with seeds and are baked in Linlithgow.
