Great Stirling XCountry
Central FM are delighted to announce that the Simplyhealth Great Stirling XCountry will be held in Stirling for the first time on Saturday 12th January. Set against the impressive backdrop of Stirling Castle, the event will feature some of the world’s best athletes battling it out across challenging terrain.
World class runners from Great Britain and Northern Ireland will take on Team Europe and Team USA across four races; the junior men/women’s races and the senior men/women’s races with team points up for grabs across the day. The event also includes the innovative and exciting International Mixed Relay event where men and women compete for the Stewart Cup.
The Simplyhealth Great Stirling Castle Run is a mass participation event which, will take place in Kings Park alongside the elite XCountry ensuring non-stop action and entertainment throughout the day.
The event is completely free to spectate, so come along and watch some of the world’s best athletes stride over Stirling’s mud and hills. Make sure you are wrapped up warm and tuck into some of the delicious hot food and drink on offer from the event village
The event will be shown live on BBC One from 13:15 to 15:15.
