Injuries Force British And Irish Lion Into Seven Changes
03 Jul 09 - Sports
Injuries have forced the British and Irish Lions into seven changes for the third test against South Africa in Johannesburg.
The series is lost but the Lions will be looking to avoid an 8th successive Test defeat, a record which stretches back to the 2001 Australia tour.
Phil Vickery returns at prop despite his problems in the first test. Vickery will be joined in the pack by Andrew Sheridan, Joe Worsley and Martyn Williams.
Ugo Monye, Shane Williams and Riki Flutey are also called into the team.
Meanwhile, South Africa have lost their appeal against Bakkies Botha's two-week ban for the barge which left Lions prop Adam Jones with a dislocated shoulder.
South Africa have already won the series after beating the Lions 28 - 25 last weekend.
The Springboks have made ten changes for the final Test this Saturday.
