Bridge of Allan Highland Games

Central FM are proud to partner with the Bridge of Allan Highland Games and are excited to be the headline sponsor for 2022!  We shall be running a competition for someone to win the title of the Chieftain for this year's games, stay tuned in to hear when we are launching the competition.

Back for 2022, the Bridge of Allan Highland Games returns and promises to be even more spectacular than ever. Picture this; elegant highland dancers, colourful pipe bands, huge strongmen tossing the caber. With a plethora of other events, stalls and entertainments spread out in a picturesque and historic setting - there is something for everyone.

Bridge of Allan is one of Scotland’s premier Highland Games, attracting crowds of between 8,000 and 10,000 people. The games field nestles between Stirling Castle – Scotland’s grandest historic attraction, the beautiful Ochil Hills and the National Wallace Monument, made famous by the blockbuster movie, Braveheart.

The games themselves offer a fun packed programme of traditional cultural and sporting events for all the family to enjoy. Crowd-pleasing heavyweight competitions, almost two hundred highland dancers and more than a thousand pipers are just some of the highlights of the day.

You can also enjoy running, cycling and wrestling, browse among trade stands and craft stalls and enjoy a wee refreshment or two as you go. For the young ones there’s more thrills to enjoy in the popular funfair, adjoining the Games field.

Whether you live in Scotland and you’re looking for a fascinating day out or you’re visiting on holiday, you can’t fail to be impressed by such a concentration of traditional Scottish events and entertainment. The climax of the day – the massed pipe bands – is one of the most inspiring and emotional sights of Scotland.

Bridge of Allan Highland Games is run to professional standards by dedicated local volunteers who look forward to meeting you in August!

Central FM and Bridge of Allan Highland Games are proud to announce that we are looking for a special person to be the Chieftain of The Games this year.  We want you to nominate someone you feel deserves special recognition for their efforts throughout the pandemic.

We are looking for nominations for someone who either works in the teaching profession or the NHS.  Tell us exactly why they have gone above and beyond and what it would mean for them to have this wonderful recognition.

Maybe it's a teacher who helped make home schooling much less of a 'tug o' war', or the care professional who definitely DID give a toss!

You can make your nomination now by filling out the form below:
