Concerns over cancelled bus services

A local MSP says cancelled bus services are "deeply concerning".

It's led to residents missing out on vital healthcare appointments.

A number of 52 services have been scrapped at short notice.

The buses run from Stirling to Alloa via Alva and Tillicoultry.

McGills have been approached for comment.

Clackmannanshire and Dunblane MSP Keith Brown said: “I am extremely concerned by the number of constituents who have contacted me regarding cancelled 52 services. For many people across our communities, this is not simply an inconvenience — it has a direct impact on their ability to get to work on time, attend university or college, and access essential healthcare appointments.

“Reliable public transport is not a luxury. It is essential service that people depend upon every day.

“I have contacted McGill’s to request an urgent meeting to seek clear answers on why these cancellations are happening and, importantly, what immediate and longer-term steps will be taken to restore reliability to the 52 route.”

“Local people deserve a dependable service. I will continue to press for workable solutions and will keep constituents updated on the outcome of discussions.”
