Falkirk enhanced provision plans scrapped

Plans to change enhanced provision across Falkirk won't be going ahead.

Falkirk Council had outlined proposals to integrate children into mainstream classrooms.

Over 6,000 people signed a petition against the idea.

Falkirk Council say their Education Services will recommend that the current provisions remain in place.

Jon Reid, Director of Education, said:

"We have listened carefully to the feedback from parents, carers, staff and young people and I want to reassure parents that following feedback this proposal will not be taken forward. 

“Existing Enhanced Provision will remain in place and children and young people will continue to receive the support they require through the current arrangements.

“We are confident that the needs of our children and young people are being met across our schools and the placements being provided. We will continue to strengthen our approaches, working with our staff, families and wider partners."
