Maddiston Primary School reopening delayed

A Falkirk primary school is to stay closed until August 2027 - after suffering damage during Storm Eowyn.

Pupils at Maddiston Primary have been sent to other schools across Falkirk.

A report to the local authority says a total of £14 million of investment is needed to fully reopen the school.

It suffered damage during Storm Eowyn earlier this year. The roof and a two-storey gable wall were hit by high winds during the red weather warning.

Initially it was hoped the school could reopen for the 2026/27 school year, but a Falkirk Council report has pushed back that date.

434 pupils are currently on the school roll.

An independent review is to be commission, and will report back to Falkirk Council in December.
