The rollout of more than 40,000 glass bins across Stirling has been completed.
Stirling Council have been distributing the larger bins, after a review into waste collection services.
They'll be collected every eight weeks from the start of next year.
Funding for the new bins comes from a UK Government scheme.
A Stirling Council statement says:
"Your new 140 litre bin provides more capacity than the 55-litre box. This additional capacity means we can carry out fewer collections but still provide more space for your glass recycling. All other bin collection schedules will remain the same.
Communal and assisted collections will continue as normal. Flatted properties will receive communal bins based on need. Larger communal bins do not need to be presented on collection day as our operatives will service these from their static position.
Please do not put household waste or any other recycling in your glass bin. If contamination occurs, you will need to remove the items or pay a service charge for us to return to collect it. The new bin belongs to the property and should not be removed.
The new system will improve service and save the Council about £300,000 per year. The cost of the new bins has been fully funded by the UK Government’s Extended Producer Responsibility for packaging (pEPR) scheme."
