175 staff members at the University have left as part of a voluntary redundancy scheme.
The University say the job losses are aiming to ensure "long-term stability".
A number of higher education institutions across the country are facing significant financial pressures.
A spokesperson for the University of Stirling said: “The Voluntary Severance Scheme (VSS) was one of several strategic measures designed to support long-term financial sustainability.
“The Scheme was carefully managed, and outcomes were decided based on business need, with 175 staff leaving the organisation as a result of VSS.
“The savings achieved – through this Scheme and wider organisational efficiencies – are intended to support our strategic priorities and improve operational effectiveness.”
