Stirling Council survives no confidence vote

Stirling Council has survived a vote of no confidence.

The SNP group had brought forward a motion, unhappy at what they call the "financial mismanagement" of the council.

11 members voted in favour, with 12 against the move.

Stirling Council discussed the motion this morning, with speeches from all major political parties involved in the local authority.

The Labour group will continue to run a minority administration, led by Council Leader Gerry McGarvey.

The Council's members are: 9 SNP, 8 Conservative, 4 Labour, 1 Green and 1 Independent.
