Vote to be held on Stirling Council future

The SNP are looking to take control of Stirling Council.

A vote will be held on Thursday, with the party looking to take over from the Labour-led administration.

The SNP won last week's Stirling East by-election.

They've now got 10 councillors, with 7 Conservatives, 4 Labour, one Green and one independent.

The SNP are proposing working with Green councillor Alasdair Tollemache and independent councillor Alasdair MacPherson.

Susan McGill would become Council leader, replacing Gerry McGarvey.

Under the proposal from the SNP, Jim Thomson would become the council's depute leader.
