Determination date changed for Larbert data centre

The deadline for a determination on the Larbert hyperscale AI data centre has been pushed back.

A decision is now expected by 13th November.

Thousands of people have raised objections to the proposed site, which would be based near Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Falkirk Council say planning officers are "continuing to assess the application".

A Falkirk Council statement says:

"The determination date for the application has been extended from 4 October to 13 November 2026, following agreement with the applicant.

Planning officers are continuing to assess the application and further extensions may be required to allow this process to be completed.

At this stage, no date has been set for the application to be considered by the Planning Committee."
