The Rock To Rome
Johnny's charity cycle from Stirling Castle to the Colosseum in Rome is raising money for the Eilidh Brown Respite Home near Stirling
On 28th of May 2023, Johnny Dreczkowski from Bridge of Allan will leave Stirling Castle esplanade and attempt to cycle to The Colosseum in Rome, Italy, solo and unsupported, to raise money for the Eilidh Brown Respite Home near Stirling.
His journey involves cycling over 1,400 miles or so from Scotland to England, across Central Europe through The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, south through The Austrian Alps, over The Brenner Pass into the Dolomite Mountains of northeast Italy, down onto the Adriatic Coast and Venice, before crossing southwest, up and over the formidable Apennine Mountain range to his destination, The Colosseum, in Rome.
Six countries, over 3 1/2 weeks, over 1,400 miles of cycling, 74,000 feet of climbing through Europe’s highest mountain ranges, solo, unsupported.
The Eilidh Brown Respite Home, built in the memory of Eilidh Brown, opened its doors for the first time in 2022, it’s now a reality, it is here!
This amazing facility is open to sick children and their families from across the United Kingdom, providing some respite from their very challenging and difficult circumstances. It needs £50,000 a year keep it running, let’s all pull together to make the lives of these children just a little bit better. You can make a difference!
