Lane closures on the M9 near the Kelpies are to end ahead of schedule.
The fast lanes between Junctions 6 and 7 will reopen on Thursday morning.
Significant delays have been reported by motorists at peak times.
Drivers were stuck in traffic for more than half an hour last week during rush hour.
The northbound carriageway is closed tonight and tomorrow night for roadworks.
Engineers are carrying out work to repair the bridge carrying the motorway over the Forth and Clyde Canal.
David Bishop, BEAR Scotland’s South East unit Bridges Manager, said: “The initial phase of these works involved investigation into the extent of the repairs required, and the work that’s been completed has allowed us to adjust the programme to bring forward the removal of daytime lane closures.
“We appreciate that these closures have caused significant delays and we’re sorry for the disruption this caused to people using the M9 this week. We’ll continue to do what we can to minimise the impact of works wherever it is safe to do so.”
