Campaigners protesting Larbert AI data centre

A protest is being held this morning against a planned AI data centre in Larbert.

Thousands of people have submitted objections to the plans from Apatura, which would be built near Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Campaigners are staging a "peaceful" protest in Grangemouth, outside a Falkirk Council meeting.

A public meeting is being held at the Dobbie Hall in Larbert next month.

The event information on Facebook says:

"Sorry for the short notice but we are planning another peaceful protest to impress upon Falkirk Council how strong the residents of Larbert and Stenhousemuir (not human receptors as Apatura like to name us) feel about the AI Centre/Industrial Unit.

PROTEST PLANNED FOR WEDNESDAY 26th August 2026 from 10.30am to 11.15am.

Outside Grangemouth Community Education Unit,

WHY THIS DATE AND VENUE: This is the date of the next Council Planning Review Committee and we want our voices heard.
Please bring your banners, the more people that can attend the better to show how strong we all feel about this application to build a monstrous industrial AI Centre that most definately is not Green within our village.
