A man has died after being hit by a car in Grangemouth.
Police were called to the incident on Newlands Road at around 11:15pm last night.
The 35-year-old male driver of the Ford Fiesta car was taken to hospital, and arrested.
Sergeant Michael Shillington said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to ID the man who died and to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed it to contact us.
“We are looking to trace the driver of a vehicle that initially stopped at the scene but left before police arrival.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area and many have dash cam or private CCTV footage that could assist to contact us.”
