Public meeting on Larbert AI data centre

A public meeting is being held at the Dobbie Hall in Larbert tonight by campaigners protesting a planned AI data centre.

Thousands of people have submitted objections to the plans from Apatura.

The proposed data centre would be built near Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

They've raised concerns about the impact it would have on public health.

More than 20,000 people have signed a petition to Holyrood, calling for a halt on AI data centres across Scotland.

Protests have also been held at the Glenbervie roundabout, and outside Falkirk Council meetings.

A post on the "Say No To Larbert AI Data Centre" Facebook page reads:

"We are holding a public meeting where a panel of independent experts will be speaking about the proposed AI data centre. 

"Each expert will share their knowledge and experience in their specialist field before taking questions from members of the public. 

"This is an opportunity for local residents to hear informed, evidence based views and have their questions answered."
