Review into Falkirk schools

A Falkirk Council report, which is being discussed tomorrow, says more than £240 million is needed to improve schools across the area.

The report says "significant" investment is needed over the next decade to maintain the school estate.

A report is warning 40 primary schools have been identified as showing signs of decay.

8 schools in the Falkirk area were built before 1940 - with 26 at least 55 years old.

£14 million worth of work has been approved for Maddiston Primary - which was damaged during Storm Eowyn.

A Learning Estate Review will be debated by the local authority.

It's hoped the proposals will improve the council's education facilities.
