Nearly 1700 people have signed a petition calling for the Alloa to Dunfermline rail line to be reopened.
They are just 14 miles apart - but to get there by train would take two hours, with two changes.
Feasability work is underway to electrify the line from Alloa to Longannet.
There is a Dunfermline to Alloa railway connection currently unused.
It runs via Kincardine and the Forth Coast, and was previously used for freight deliveries to Longannet.
The petition has been launched by the Scottish Greens, who say the move could "transform" local communities.
Conservative candidate Alexander Stewart says while the move would be welcome, there's no "credible" plan at the moment.
Lib Dem candidate Sally Pattle says it's a "sensible" move, and the Lib Dems have a track record of delivering on promises.
Reform candidate Mike Collier says he'd "welcome" the plans, but there needs to be a review of the feasibilty study.
Eva Comrie from Alliance to Liberate Scotland says it would bring "real benefits" to the area.
We've approached the SNP, Reform, and independent candidate Luca Scacchi for comment.
