Residents in Larbert are to hold a demonstration later amid concerns about an AI data centre.
A planning application has been submitted by Apatura for a centre, hundreds of metres from Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
Concerns have been raised about noise, air pollution, and the health impact across the area.
A public meeting was held last week.
Falkirk West MSP Gary Bouse said:
"I want to encourage investment into Scotland, but it’s got to be investment that supports, encourages and nurtures sustainable economic growth in Scotland that creates good opportunities for our people.
The SNP Government is clear that the voices of communities that are affected by such developments must be central in any considerations. I therefore encourage that people write to Falkirk Council planning department to ensure their voices are heard.
With AI data centres, there are legitimate points to be considered about the use of energy resources, about the use of land, about the implications that may have for other aspects of society.
As it stands the Apatura submission at Larbert has many questions still to be answered and I believe there should be a pause on its progression until full consideration has been given to any potential impacts of this development on our local community."
