End of mask mandate in Scotland

For the first time in nearly two years, masks are no longer legally required to be worn in most indoor public spaces and on public transport.

Today marks the end of the legal requirement to wear a face covering in most settings across the Forth Valley.

People are being "strongly recommended" to wear one, as the law changes to guidance.

Face masks will still be required in health care settings in the Forth Valley, though.

The Scottish Government say it's to reduce the risk for clinically vulnerable people.
