A 51-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Bonnybridge.
The incident happened at around 10:10 on Saturday night, on the A803 Falkirk Road.
The road was closed for more than eight hours after the crash.
The driver of the silver Hyundai was not injured.
Constable Neil Mealey said: "A man has sustained serious injuries as a result of this crash and we are appealing for information to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
"Enquiries are ongoing and we're appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who was in that area with a dash-cam fitted to their vehicle to contact us."
